The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, has unveiled an ambitious Rs 11,467 crore development initiative to transform Amaravathi into a world-class capital city. This comprehensive plan focuses on creating robust infrastructure, modern residential facilities, and essential amenities, with a completion target of three years.
Key Highlights of the Development Plan
- 360 km of Trunk Roads
The project includes the construction of 360 kilometers of trunk roads, costing Rs 2,498 crore. These roads will enhance connectivity and streamline transportation within the capital region. - Water Infrastructure
Reservoirs and a gravity canal will be developed across Pala Vagu and Kondaveeti Vagu, with an allocation of Rs 1,585 crore. These projects aim to improve water management and ensure a reliable supply for the region. - Residential Complexes
- Residential facilities for various service officers: Rs 3,523 crore.
- Essential infrastructure for returnable layouts in farmer-allotted lands: Rs 3,859 crore.
These developments will provide housing and amenities for key stakeholders, ensuring a high standard of living.
International Standards in Construction
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana announced that construction work would begin in January. The Chief Minister has directed that all projects adhere to international standards, setting a new benchmark for urban development in India.
